Students in University.

“I’m mad as hell’ was a protest task in which we were given. For this task I chose to group up with a fellow student. I began looking at what I want to protest against, once I finished looking I chose to look at the mental illness of a studying student. I began gaining facts and figures in which I can place in my work. I then got images which I edited using photoshop,

I chose to make the images black and white white a red border to really allow the image to pop. However keeping it still very simplistic. Moreover, when I completed my protest task, we were again given the task to get into a bigger group. Here we would learn how to use ‘in-design’. It was here where we put the groups images together to create one big leaflet in which would protest against mental illness against studying students.

Heros Journey.

For the hero’s journey, we were put into small groups and given the task to create a short movie which entails a hero. My group and I decided we would create a short movie where we get lost going on holiday, and a hero comes to save the day. However, we wanted our own imagery so to do this we went into Chester and took multiple amounts of photos which we would further edit a little later on. When editing we added details such as airport signs, and plane windows to really represent we are going on holiday. Moreover, we decided to keep the imagery very simplistic with just black and white, this allowed us to capture a somewhat panicky effect which was key to us as we were lost on holiday.

Album Cover.

My album cover is a Representation if the song ‘powerhouse’. Each section that I have created within the album cover shows a different sector to the song. For example, a circle over a circle will give off a loop effect. So therefore, when we see the loops over one another and try to see the music within that imagery we may be able to feel that effect in the song, an instrument might play and get louder and then go quieter and keep repeating itself. I have tried to capture what I can see, and how I can feel the song throughout my whole album cover. As well as, somewhat trying to keep a ‘powerhouse’ feel to the cover.

In-Put-Out-PUT.

‘Input output’ is a short animation in which I created using a website called ‘marvel’. I created an image of an egg, which further develops into other things such as a burger, too many other things all of which are a different story on each section. Furthermore, in a similar project I learnt that placement and how you put something down is key. Therefore, I made sure where I began placing things where correct. For example, I have done the cheese falling out of the burger and went off the slide, moving onto the next slide which then lead to a car in which was made from the cheese. By looking at where things are places allowed me to have a very well put together storyboard as you can see a strong thought process within my story.

Spin Me.

‘Spin me’ was a project in which was set. We were given a song to look into and try to replicate that song however we want onto a cube net. My song that I had chosen was ‘Formation’ by Beyoncé. This song is a strong message in which is talking about the American disasters, black discrimination and the hurricane in which America experienced. To get a similar message onto the cube net I decided to draw strong imagery such as guns, hands and figures. By doing this I am showing a story. Moreover, I have also thought about where and how I will be placing the images. By angling the images towards a certain direction makes you automatically look towards the other side of the cube. I chose to do this, or something similar throughout the cube to show the path of my story in which I am trying to tell.

Mildred.

My idea behind Mildred was to create a horror poster which would be for an upcoming movie. The idea for the movie that I wanted to show was for mass murder. To create this murder scene effect I chose to use an alleyway in which would be a hidden place, and a very likely place for something like this to occur. Moreover, I then added a figure in the right section of the poster but I chose to not show anything other than shadow. I chose to do this because the murder can not be caught. He is something to be afraid of. Furthermore, the shadow figure is looking to the right, towards a figure laying dead on the floor with blood flowing out. This shows a death scene in which I wanted for my horror poster. I have carefully put together this poster, with the thoughts of placement in mind. For example, the shadow figure looking to his right towards the figure in which is dead. By having the head turned to the right makes you look towards the direction in which he is looking. Making this a somewhat professional outcome.
